LiDAR, an acronym for Light Detection And Ranging, uses lasers that send out light to bounce off objects and return, measuring the “time-of-flight” (ToF) or time of travel to and from the object, to generate a measurement.

LiDAR is currently only available on select Apple® iPhone and iPad devices listed above.
