The Impact of Using RENDR to Save Time

At the time they were using CANVAS. Julie and team reviewed RENDR Sales Acceleration Platform and found it was much faster than the pure measuring tool they were using.

The Mosby story started in 1947 when Sam Mosby opened his construction business. A World War II veteran and a man of integrity, Sam’s passion for excellence was passed down to his son, Scott who began working for his father during his school years. Scott returned to Mosby Construction after college with the goal of improving teamwork between construction management and remodeling design.

Scott purchased the Mosby construction business in 1983 and continues to evolve the work quality and customer service by combining professional design talent with experienced construction knowledge. This combined vision of Sam and Scott continues to drive the thriving business today.

Key Challenges

    Before using any software

    They would send a Mosby Home Advisor into the customer’s home, take photos, and sketch/measure by hand. Then they would bring back the hand drawing with measurements and put it all in Chief Architect® to create as-builts. This process took 3 to 4 weeks to complete.

    Tried Canvas

    To try to speed up the process, they implemented CANVAS. They would scan using CANVAS, and after several days to weeks, they would receive the files they needed from CANVAS. Since the files did not come back in the format they needed, they then needed to alter the files they received before loading into Chief Architect. As a result, the entire process took more time than doing it by hand.

    After RENDR

    With RENDR either at the first appointment, or when they return to take measurements, the Mosby Team Member scans the space, in minutes, then sends the plans generated instantly by RENDR to the design team.

    Faster time to Design Agreement

    After RENDR

    The RENDR files produced by the initial measures are then uploaded into Chief Architect to instantly create as-builts they can then use to create designs. There is no wait time for receiving the files any longer so RENDR is cutting their process by 1 to 2 weeks. The process of producing the Design Agreement after initial measures was taking 3 to 4 weeks but, with RENDR, is now taking 2 weeks and can be even shorter as they reduce their backlog of work.

    It's now taking 25% to 50% less time to get designs done.
    They are also saving:
    • 45 mins to 1 hr for each measure
    • 45 minutes less time spent drafting

    RENDR has provided fast support at every turn to the Mosby team enabling them to move very quickly to overcome any questions or challenges. This has been a big part of why Mosby has been successful with RENDR.

What's Next?

  • Mosby has their own estimating software (Ready Build) which they would like to integrate with RENDR. They are selling this to other Remodelers now.

  • They will expand use to RENDR even more as they use it and get sales people trained on their new and improved process.
