What Makes RENDR So Accurate? RENDR Uses LiDAR Scanning Technology

The RENDR app uses LiDAR scanning technology to deliver incredible measurement accuracy.

LiDAR, an acronym for Light Detection And Ranging, uses lasers that send out light to bounce off objects and return, measuring the “time-of-flight” (ToF) or time of travel to and from the object, to generate a measurement. Compared to its predecessor RADAR, LiDAR can produce much more accurate data because it uses lasers instead of radio waves. It’s the technology that powers ventures that require the utmost precision, from the Apollo 15 space mission in 1971 to the self-driving cars of the future.

LiDAR is currently only available on select Apple® iPhone and iPad devices. The current list of supported devices is below.
